Keep Austin Weird Festival & 5k Run

In: Cool Places to Live| Fun Things to see in Austin| Hill Country Happenings

This past Saturday June 28th was the sixth annual Keep Austin Weird Festival & 5k Run
keepaustinweirdfest.com where Miss V was a volunteer! Yes, over 3000 of Austin’s wackiest residents dress up or down as the inspiration (or perhaps in some cases heat-stroke) strikes them and show up to race, walk or simply meander along the course laid out along Town Lake beginning at the park at Auditorium Shores. After the race, all participants collected a cool t-shirt (directed by yours truly) and lots of good carb food and compliments on their costumes or lack thereof….it really is exactly what Austin is all about and why all of us love living here in the Hill Country….wacky, eccentric, and most of all, fun-loving folks to the max…so enjoy the pics..and even a short You-Tube video (my first one)Note the one participant wearing stilts!

And yes,he finished!

I was there, and indeed the day was high spirited and fun. Austin keep on keeping weird…and Vicki keep all of us up to date on the latest fun for hill country living.
