Downtown Georgetown: Historic Lockett BuildingCool Places to Live!  Georgetown ranks # 2 in Fortune Magazine’s 2008 Poll!

Wow!  Just outside Austin is the wonderful community of Georgetown which has just hit the big-time with Fortune’s No. 2 Rank on “100 Best Places to live and Launch”! This article is aimed at attracting those who want to live in a great place, have wonderful outdoor activities and be able to launch a successful business all at the same time.  Georgetown even beat out trendy cities like Portland, Oregon (No. 6) and Charlotte, NC (no.8).  So what makes Georgetown so special? For starters,  how about a business climate with low utility rates, low property tax rates, a wonderful regional business development effort,  growing fields like healthcare, life science, and technology and even a planned convention center.  Georgetown is going for the gold medal in attracting new residents and businesses!  They have wonderful restored Victorians that won’t cost you an arm and a leg and new developments with great hiking and biking trails like the  Georgetown Villas (very Tuscany), a lake (Lake Georgetown), a river (San Gabriel) and count ‘em five golf courses!  And of course the great weather that we have here in Central Texas and the proximity to Austin and its wonderful music scene is a real plus!  To see the entire article, go to: http://www.money.cnn.com/magazines/fsb/bestplace/2008
